This type of item provides for a set of token elements to be enabled to be dragged to specific target locations to answer the question. The drag- gable elements are called tokens, and the response area is called the target. Examples of these types of items can be found in Figures 8 and 9. Figure 9 provides the usual layout of the item where there are a number of tokens that need to be moved to the appropriate targets. For these items there were two variations on the presentation which corresponded to directions that stated either ‘select all’ or ‘select N’ that apply.

And so, we discussed that in terms of coming up with that recommendation. Within the Acts, the Board of Nursing power and duties. ©2020 National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc. All rights reserved. 3 So this is a very…in the current language, a very lengthy list. It's, I think A through Z, so there's 26 of those listed. And there was also some other detail inside of that with particular ones. And we are recommending a more-slimmed down list, focused on authorization to conduct those activities without the detail that was in the current language and leaving the detail to go into the sections of the Acts that pertain to that particular issue.

Perceived barriers to educational innovations not only related to regulation were discussed, but also barriers set up by education systems, practice environments and the students them- selves. A vision for the future was presented, which focused on im- proved communication and forming partnerships between education, regulation and practice. The following day, March 26, 2008, NCSBN’s Faculty Qualifications Committee hosted a conference on the faculty shortage that attracted educators, practitioners and regulators from around the country, as well as internationally. At this meeting some ex- emplar innovations were presented, such as using simulation, piloting nurse faculty internship programs and using robots to extend nurse educators.

The enhanced legislation has been well-received: in the 2016 legislative session, 15 states put forth bills containing enhanced NLC language, including several that were not previously part of the NLC. “This is due to the revisions; the enhancements have brought on these new states,” Fotsch explains. “That’s exciting because that was the point of changing it.” The enhanced NLC will become effective when 26 states have either newly joined or made the necessary changes to their existing legislation. As of mid-March, five states had already done so, and bills in 10 other states were making steady progress. Several other states are considering a 2017 proposal.

This was years before where he is at right now. So I want to run through the information from the Carnegie study, and Dan mentioned this yesterday too. You know that the Carnegie Institute for Teaching Excellence did a study, some years ago, about the professions and they looked at law, clerg,y medicine, engineering, and nursing. This is a fluke and this is really a game changer for nursing, I got to tell you. Because law, medicine, and clergy are the old guard 12th-century group of professions. Engineering was added, isn't this curious? Because they are the keepers of the earth.

The one exception to that is if your bill is related to a budget or funding issue. So that's why you'll keep hearing me say the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, because that was a budget reconciliation bill, and that was able to be moved with just 51 votes. So the budget situation for fiscal year '26 is actually a good example of how there's still, even in a very contentious Congress, a sense of consensus around what ultimately gets passed. And a lot of that has to do with how tight the margins are. So the President's budget, this again, was early in the transition when the administration first came in, proposed some pretty deep cuts.
