Setting the Passing Standard for the NCLEX-RN® Examination Setting the Passing Standard for the NCLEX-RN® Examination Anne Wendt, PhD, RN, CAE, Lorraine Kenny, MS, RN Authors’ Affiliations: Director (Dr. Wendt), Content Manager (Ms. Kenny), NCLEX® Examinations, National Council of State Boards of Nursing, Inc., Chicago, Ill Abstract The Board of Directors of the National Council of State Boards of Nursing (NCSBN) evaluates the NCLEX RN® examination passing standard every three years. In December, 2006 the Board decided that the NCLEX RN® passing standard should be increased from -0.2800 logits to -0.2100 logits.
