The first sec- tion contained demographic questions including the average number of CE contact hours that the participants earned each year regardless of whether or not their juris- diction required it. Section 2 asked about their work environment. Section 3 asked about their performance of nursing activities using three separate questions and scales. First, the participants were asked (“Y Yes” or “N No”) if the activity was part of core RN practice. Next, participants were asked to provide a rating about the importance of each activity for RN practice considering client safety using a scale of “1 Not Important,” “2 Somewhat Important,” “3 Important,” and “4 Extremely Important.”

After each review, appro- priate modifications were made. User testing was then conducted, in which the set of prototype items was adminis- tered to a small sample of examinees representative of the target examinee population. User testing was conducted in 3 iterative stages. The first iteration in- cluded 2 students from a bachelor’s degree program, the second included 1 student from a bachelor’s program, and the third included 3 students from an associate’s degree program. Four of the 6 students were women, and 2 were men.

Minor offenses with a lack of honest disclosure; explanation on personal statement is incongruent with the CBC report or other documents; 2. Serious offenses (including a series of misdemeanors or those that suggest that the individual has a pattern of behavior, or any misdemeanor that the BON feels warrants further investigation); 3. Crimes of a sexual nature; and 4. A history of substance use. Crimes of a Sexual Nature Is the crime of a sexual nature? If so, require a psychological evaluation for all individuals convicted of a sexual offense involving a minor or performing a sexual act against the will of another person.

Interviews were audio-recorded and transcribed. They were analyzed using a qualitative software analysis package (QST NUD-IST version 3). The data were coded and categorized as themes emerged. The students reported significant development in their critical thinking abilities. The reported greater autonomy to question the status quo. The participants reported a less rule-bound approach to their practice (relates to Benner’s work).
